Getting started is easy with Midland Solar. We've been helping Bendigo navigate rebates and install solar for over 10 years. It all starts with getting in touch with our team.
Assessment
We discuss with you the potential benefits of your new solar system and how to maximise its effectiveness. We'll also determine the best system to suit your needs. This is the perfect time to ask any questions you may have.
Design
Our team design the agreed-upon solar system to perfectly fit your roof or ground mount. This ensures maximum effectiveness and aesthetics year-round.
Approvals
Before installation, we assist with all necessary approvals and rebates. This way, you won't have to worry about any issues with paperwork, and your new system will be approved and ready to go in no time.
Installation
Our in-house team of expert solar panel installers will arrive at your home at the agreed-upon time to install your new system. Typically, our installers can get your system up and running in as little as 4 hours.
Common questions about going solar
How much does it cost to install solar?
It depends on the size of the system and what your switchboard and roof need, so we do not publish a single price. What we do is size the system from your last 12 months of bills, apply the STC discount and any Solar Victoria rebate you qualify for, and give you the final figure in writing before you commit.
How much money will I save by installing solar?
It comes down to how much of your power you use while the sun is up. The worked examples on our residential page show typical figures by household size, but they are examples, not a quote. When we assess your place we use your own bills so the estimate reflects your household.
What is a feed-in tariff?
It is the credit your retailer pays for solar power you export to the grid instead of using yourself. Feed-in rates are now well below what you pay to buy power back, which is why we size systems around using your own generation, and why a battery often stacks up.
How can I select a reputable solar retailer?
Check that the retailer is a New Energy Tech Approved Seller under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code, that the installer holds current Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation, and that the panels, inverter and battery are on the Clean Energy Council approved product lists. Ask who actually does the installation, and get the payback assumptions in writing.
How can I tell if my installer is accredited?
Solar Accreditation Australia took over installer and designer accreditation from the Clean Energy Council in 2024, and you can look up an installer on the SAA register. Accreditation is also what allows STCs to be created for your system, so it affects your discount as well as your workmanship.
Can I recycle my solar panels?
Yes. Panels are largely glass, aluminium and silicon, and there are dedicated PV recyclers operating in Victoria. If we are replacing an old array we will talk you through where the old panels go rather than leaving them with you.
Do you install off-grid systems?
No. We install grid-connected solar, including hybrid systems with battery backup, across the Greater Bendigo region. If your property has no grid connection we will say so up front and point you elsewhere rather than sell you something that does not fit.
